The problem
Christianshavn had gyms with a yoga wall. It did not have a warm room — somewhere the heat does the teaching, the language is plain, and a first visit does not have to begin with a decision about money.
What I did
Founder and operator since 2014, and the person who rebuilt it twice: the 2020 format the studio is now known for, and the 2026 migration off Framer to a Next.js site we own. I teach on the schedule, shoot the photography, run the ads, do the VAT and stand at the front desk.

Architecture
- Next.js with Danish and English locales, migrated off Framer when the platform announced its shutdown and set someone else's timeline for us.
- A member portal backed entirely by Booking Bible: login, native booking, store, passes, receipts, gift cards, and the health questionnaire that gates hot-class booking.
- Two-step checkout that shows an itemised net, VAT and total-today breakdown from the platform's canonical pricing before anything is charged — with signature capture and a guardian flow for minors.
- Server-side token refresh on 401, httpOnly session cookies, Turnstile on signup, Sentry watching all of it.
Outcomes
- Open at Torvegade 66 since 2014 — the only infrared hot yoga studio in Copenhagen.
- 4.9 out of 5 across 500+ reviews, with classes every day of the week.
- Off Mindbody and off Framer: the bookings, the passes, the accounts and the marketing site all now run on software built in the same building.

Why it exists
Christianshavn needed a warm room, not another gym with a yoga wall. HYC is built around one idea: 38° of infrared heat that sinks into muscle, plain language, and a door that is easy to walk through — the first month costs nothing.
Everything after the mat is deliberate hospitality: warm changing rooms and showers, a ginger shot and herbal tea on the way out, and a shavasana played through a sound system most venues would gig with.
